Gyeongju Ssambap Street (경주 쌈밥거리)

Located near the Daereungwon Ancient Tomb Complex, Gyeongju Ssambap Street is lined with popular restaurants specializing in ssambap. Ssambap—a traditional Korean meal—features rice and side dishes wrapped in leafy vegetables like lettuce or perilla leaves, and is typically served with grilled meat, fish, namul (seasoned vegetables), and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew). Each restaurant offers its own specialties, such as charcoal-grilled pork ssambap and beef bulgogi ssambap, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a hearty local meal during your trip.

Gyeongju Gyochon Traditional Village (경주 교촌마을)

Centered on the historic residence of the Gyeongju Choi Clan, this peaceful village preserves traditional hanok houses, providing a serene atmosphere to appreciate the beauty of Korean architecture. Stylish restaurants and cafés with hanok-inspired interiors are dotted throughout the village, serving Korean-style desserts such as injeolmi ice cream, honey ginseng tea, and patbingsu (shaved ice topped with sweet red beans).

Gyeongjuhyanggyo Local Confucian School (경주향교)

This traditional Confucian academy from the Joseon dynasty was used to educate local scholars and perform ceremonial rites. Its spacious courtyard and neatly preserved wooden buildings create a tranquil setting that evokes the atmosphere of the past. Located within Gyochon Village, it’s an ideal place to visit alongside other nearby sites.
