Gyeongju Jungang Market (경주 중앙시장)
As Gyeongju’s main traditional market, Jungang Market offers a wide selection of local specialties including Hwangnam Bread, sticky barley buns, and tteokgalbi. The night market, open from Thursday to Sunday, features freshly prepared street food. For just 12,000 won, visitors can choose four dishes to fill a designated tasting tray.
Gyeongju Hwangnidan Street (경주 황리단길)
This culinary street in Gyeongju is lined with street food stalls, unique cafés, and popular restaurants. Blending tradition with modern flair, it offers local specialties such as cheese-filled coin-shaped bread, mugwort-flavored chocolate, and oksusutwigim (corn fritters).
Gyeongju Gyochon Traditional Village (경주 교촌마을)
This village is home to well-preserved hanok houses, including the historic residence of the distinguished Gyeongju Choi Clan. Visitors can relax at a hanok café while enjoying traditional tea and creative desserts made with Korean ingredients like mugwort and black sesame.
Gyodong Beopju Liquor
With over 600 years of history, Gyodong Beopju Liquor is one of Gyeongju’s most renowned traditional liquors, brewed using the same method once flavored by the Silla royal court. Made with only glutinous rice and yeast, it features a deep, rich flavor with a smooth sweetness and subtle notes from natural fermentation. Visitors can sample and purchase it at the store in Gyochon Village, and also join hands-on programs to learn the traditional brewing process.
