Introduction
Lee Sung-won is the eldest grandson of the head family of the Yeongcheon Lee family and 18th descendant of Lee Hyeon-bo (1467-1555), a scholar from the Joseon dynasty who went by the penname Nongam. Lee Sung-won’s most notable achievement was the restoration of Nongam Traditional House after the original plot flooded due to the construction of the Andong Dam. After searching for land similar to the original plot and gathering the separated buildings for more than 30 years, the head house was built on the current site. Since restoring the house, he hosted classes on Andong’s history, culture, and nature to spread knowledge about his hometown. His recommended destinations are tranquil attractions that take visitors on a remarkable trip to the past.
