  • Introduction

    *Actor Kim So-yeon
One of the most recognizable actors in Korea with a celebrity status to match, Kim So-yeon began her career as a teenage star and has diligently worked her way to earn credit as a reputable actress over time. Her most recent recognition came with her role as Cheon Seojin in the drama series “The Penthouse: War in Life (2020-2021).” Her depiction of the villain, almost bordering on madness, won her a Best Actress Award. Over the many years of her career, there isn't a region of South Korea Kim So-yeon hasn't visited, but she recommends Uljin, a place with crystal clear water and the coolness of the forest.

“For works set in the past, I often have to head to the countryside for filming. I am actually working on a piece like that right now, so we’re going around the country for filming. Among the places I’ve visited, I can recommend Uljin in Gyeongsangbuk-do. I’ve been told that it was originally a relatively unknown tourist destination, only known among avid travelers, until it became famous when it served as the setting for the drama “Into the Storm (2004).” Uljin is most famous for its fresh seafood, and it even has hot springs in the forests, so you can enjoy both the sea and the forest in the area. If you like nature, I definitely recommend Uljin.”
