Hwangnidan Street is the new hangout in Gyeongju that has been rising in popularity. Originally one of the many alleyways in the Hwangnam-dong area known as “Hwangnam Keungil” (Big Street in Hwangnam), the alley became a hipster hangout with restaurants, cafes, and photo studios housed in renovated hanok (traditional Korean house) buildings. It is also near UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Cheomseongdae Observatory and Cheonmachong Tomb, as well as Gyeongju Jungang Market, which offers plenty of things to eat.

“Hwangnidan Street’s a real hot hangout these days! You see these pretty hanok buildings lining up along the streets. In Gyeongju, you’ve got a lot of historic sites, pretty restaurants, and cafes, so if you like watching things, Gyeongju is a great place to visit. Everyone in ATEEZ loves bread, and Gyeongju’s signature Hwangnam Bread is especially one of our favorite snacks. It’s full of sweet red bean filling, so it goes really well with coffee. Don’t miss them on your next trip to Gyeongju!”
A charming and cozy Korean dessert cafe: Bitgguri
This cafe is located in a small alley near Cheonmachong Tomb (Daereungwon Ancient Tombs), in a renovated old hanok and yard. This place's seating is on the floor, so the traditional atmosphere comes alive. Bitgguri’s signature menu items are grilled saekdong injeolmi (bean-powder-coated rice cake) and tangerine ginger tea. Dig into the colorful rice cakes, grilled and coated with powdered soybeans, and traditional tea to fully enjoy the classic charms of Gyeongju.
