    Changnyeong is often referred to as a roofless museum for its countless natural heritage sites and historic remains. The most famous attraction is Upo Wetland, Korea’s largest inland swamp. It is an important ecological destination as it is designated as a Natural Monument and Ramsar Wetland site.

      Santokki Park (산토끼 노래동산)

      A park inspired by the theme of a Korean children’s song, “Santokki.” There is an exhibition introducing rabbits from different parts of the world, as well as a playground with a slide, sledding hill, and more.

      Changnyeong Upo Wetland (창녕 우포늪)

      Korea’s largest swamp that was created over 140,000,000 years ago. It is currently under preservation by the Ramsar Convention due to its ecological value. Take a walk or ride a bike along the 9.7-kilometer-long trail.

      Ancient Tombs in Gyo-dong and Songhyeon-dong, Changnyeong (창녕 교동과 송현동 고분군)

      Tombs of the ruling class from the Gaya period scattered in the area of Gyo-dong and Songhyeon-dong.

      Mannyeongyo Bridge (만년교)

      A rainbow-shaped stone bridge made during the Joseon dynasty (1780). The bridge’s reflection on the water creates a decalcomania painting and makes for a great photo spot.

    Jeong Bong-chae is a photographer who has been keeping a record of the four seasons of Upo Wetland for more than 20 years. He constantly works to preserve Upo Wetland in a unique perspective unseen anywhere else. In 2008, he was invited as the photographer for the World Ramsar General Assembly that opened in Changwon and this became the basis for his activity for Upo Wetland. He focuses on attitude towards nature more than technical skills and has created quite the collection at Jeong Bong-chae Gallery. Travel to the center of Upo Wetland in Changnyeong, the city of nature and history.
