Have You Heard of Baekje in Korean History? - A Day Trip to Gongju and Buyeo, Cities Holding 1500 Years of History
There was a kingdom called Baekje, founded in 18 BC and fallen in 678 AD.
Although history tends to be written by the victors, leaving few records about Baekje, there are still small cities holding traces of Baekje 1500 years ago. These are Gongju and Buyeo, once the capitals of Baekje.
You can reach these enchanting cities in about two hours by bus from Seoul. Since Gongju and Buyeo are close, you can visit both in one day and return to Seoul while enjoying the night view of the Geumgang River, one of Korea's four major rivers.
