The remodeled Korea Plaza in Singapore hosted a pre-open event on September 16 in celebration of their reopening. The Korea Plaza, a Korean culture & tourism information center, has been operated by the Singapore Branch of Korea Tourism Organization since first opening in 2007.
The event held was attended by 30 Singaporeans interested in Korean culture and tourism. Participants enjoyed a mini guided tour of the newly reopened Korea Plaza, learned a k-pop dance with a famous dancer, and tasted traditional Korean snacks and drinks. The event participants shared their fun activities through their personal social media channels, increasing interest in the Korea Plaza.
The Korea Plaza is also planning a relay event following their official reopening on September 18. Visitors can participate in the survey event regarding Visit Korea Year 2023-2024 and the Korea Plaza until September 28, and members of VISITKOREA can also get a free gift while supplies last. A range of workshops and educational events are planned to take place in October, including folk painting and traditional bojagi (wrapping cloth) craft workshops for Singaporean Children’s Day, and Korean lessons for Hangeul Day.
Singapore’s Korea Plaza aims to operate more hallyu-related programs following the trends of the younger generation, as well as offering ICT K-contents to promote Korean culture and tourism.
