Incheon International Airport, the gateway to Korea, was built on reclaimed land connecting Incheon's Yeongjongdo Island with three neighboring islands. Since the construction of the airport, Yeongjongdo Island has been transformed into a self-sufficient city with various amenities, shopping malls, recreational facilities, hotels, resorts, and residential areas being built in addition to its considerable natural tourist attractions.
This has also allowed travelers passing through Incheon International Airport to take day trips or stay the night near the airport itself. For example, travelers flying into or out of Korea late at night may want to stay at a hotel near Incheon International Airport and explore the area.
Located near the AREX Unseo Station, Days Hotel & Suites Incheon Airport, Howard Johnson Incheon Airport, and GL City Hotel all offer ideal accommodations for visitors exploring the Incheon International Airport area.
These three hotels are not only located just one stop away from Incheon International Airport via AREX, but also offer 24-hour check-in services and reasonable prices. All three hotels are within walking distance from Unseo Station on foot, and the area around Unseo Station offers plenty of restaurants, shopping centers, amenities, and transportation opportunities to nearby tourist sites, being the commercial center of Yeongjongdo Island.
From the hotel, you can reach Yeongjongdo Island's most popular tourist attractions, such as Masian Beach, the beaches on Yongyudo Island, Seonnyeobawi Rock and its surrounding beach, Eurwangni Beach, Incheon Airport Observatory, Yongyu Sky Observatory, Yeongjong Seaside Park, and sports facilities such as rail bikes and Sky72 Golf Club, are all within 20 minutes’ reach by taxi or by taking city bus 111, 203, or 204.

There is also a shuttle bus service from the hotel to the airport, which departs from the hotel entrance every hour from 06:00 to 12:00, so you can get to the airport quite conveniently. Please note that the shuttle bus service is a one-way service from the hotel to the airport.
What makes both hotels so convenient is that they are located in the center of the commercial district, close to Incheon International Airport, with many amenities nearby. A health and beauty store (Olive Young) is located on the first and second floors of the hotel. There is a shopping mall with over 140 stores, including convenience stores, currency exchange, bank, hair salon, restaurants serving fried chicken restaurants, fast food restaurants, and other restaurants nearby. These are great places to spend some time enjoying local delicacies or having some chicken and beer, as well as shopping opportunities for souvenirs and travel essentials. The proximity of the two hotels to the airport has also made them quite popular with airline crews.
The GL City Hotel offers a cost-effective space for a quiet and comfortable stay. The added benefit is that pets are allowed on the premises.
The hotel is located about a 10-minute walk from Exit 2 of Unseo Station. Due to the distance from the station, the hotel provides a shuttle bus service to and from Incheon International Airport in the morning, and at other times by reservation. There are three departures for the free shuttle bus service: 06:30, 09:00, 11:30.
You can check in at any time at the kiosk in the lobby.
The hotel’s 54 trendy rooms are divided into double and twin rooms, all with free Wi-Fi, sink, refrigerator, minibar, electric kettle, and hairdryer.
Mattresses are specially treated for du mites, and eco-friendly bedding and linens ensure a comfortable night's sleep, even for those with sensitive skin.
On the first floor of the hotel, there are many shops that are frequented by local Koreans, including cafés, restaurants, fried chicken joints, convenience stores, and laundromats. A fun activity to do while staying at the hotel is to try these different activities with the locals. There's also a Megabox movie theater just a 2-minute walk away, so guests can also catch the latest releases as well. The hotel’s 11th floor rooftop offers a beautiful view of Incheon International Airport, especially at night.
A 10-minute drive along the coastal road of Yeongjongdo Island leads to the Incheon Airport Observatory on Oseongsan Mountain. This two-story glass structure brings you up close to the planes taking off and landing at Incheon International Airport. Just watching them prepare for takeoff, each one eager to reach its destination, and seeing their heavy fuselages take off with a roar is enough to fill one with anticipation.
Yongyu Sky Observatory is located at the entrance to Geojampo Wharf on the southwestern side of Yeongjongdo Island. The sea breeze cools you down as you climb the stairs. Climbing to the top of the spiral staircase brings you to an observation deck with a 360-degree view of the area, with Incheon International Airport in the distance, along with the tidal flats, Yongyudo Island, and Muuido Island. The observation deck offers views of both sunset and sunrise, and during the fishing season, you can enjoy the beautiful sight of the sea being illuminated by the lights of the boats. What’s more, at night you can enjoy the view of Incheon International Airport, and on a clear day you can even see the Songdo New Town and Incheondaegyo Bridge.
The area between Yongyu Sky Observatory and Eurwangni Beach, the most famous beach on Yeongjongdo Island, has a series of tourist beaches in the form of Masian Beach, Yongyudo Beach, and Seonnyeobawi Beach. These beaches all share the beautiful view of the sunset that the island is known for.
You can find coffee shops and restaurants serving seafood noodle soup, sliced raw fish, and other seafood dishes, so take the time to browse and sample some local delicacies. The tidal flats at Masian Beach are also worth a visit while you are there.
Seonnyeobawi Beach is known for the majestic rock formation that gives the beach its name. There is a charming view of the people harvesting clams and shells on the small beach.
Located at the eastern end of the island, this 3.4 kilometer-long Rail Bike overlooks the sea for its entire length. Trees line both sides of the tracks, providing welcome shade from the sun. There's a bike path next to the rails, so cyclists can rent a bike from the Seaside Park rental shop and race against the Rail Bikes.
