I knew that the forest at the foot of Udusan Mountain was beautiful, but I had no idea that my time there would be so meaningful. Geochang Anti-Aging Healing Land is one of Korea's 100 Must-Visit Tourist Spots of 2023-2024, selected by the Korea Tourism Organization. Aside from the wellness programs, it is also a great tourist destination. Therefore, there are more things to see and enjoy than other recreational forests or healing forests.

The Y-shaped Suspension Bridge has quickly established itself as a representative tourist attraction in Geochang. It appears after about 15 minutes of hiking towards the top of Udusan Mountain. Three bridges of 40 m, 24 m, and 25 m connect the three peaks in a 'Y' shape. The bridges, which rely on each other for balance without pylons, are dizzying. Walking on it is thrilling, but at the same time, it is safe enough to accommodate up to 230 people at the same time.

On the left side of the management office is the native plant botanical garden trail. It continues along the deck to the 30 m high Gyeonampokpo Falls. The entrance on the other side of the native plant botanical garden is a barrier-free path of approximately 1.3 km, serving as the main walking trail. It is made of a wooden deck, so it is possible to use strollers or wheelchairs. Just going to and from these places is already an exciting forest trip and walk. However, you cannot miss out on opportunities to connect with the forest by participating in the forest healing program and the guided forest tour program. It is an excellent opportunity to experience and feel the mountains and forests, where Uisang and Wonhyo meditated.

Wellness Rejuvenating Your Body and Mind

Geochang Anti-Aging Healing Land's representative wellness programs are the forest healing program and the guided forest tour program. The basis of the forest healing program is 'Always green with pine trees.' This private program is open to all ages and involves walking along a barrier-free path with a forest therapy instructor. The program includes negative ion meditation, plant therapy, dance therapy, and more. In particular, hammock meditation is many participants' favorite. Swaying in a hammock, you will feel like you have reached a heavenly forest. Group programs are also offered by age and target. The program details vary slightly: emotional stimulation and aroma therapy for teenagers, blood circulation and tea therapy for older adults, and speech therapy and forest orienteering for families. People with a stressful occupation can enjoy stress relief and stimulation of the five senses.

A representative guided forest tour program is 'Laugh as much as you want.' Walk along the native plant botanical garden trail with a forest tour guide. It is not just an explanation; you can enjoy forest experiences, such as observing and making natural objects. Thanks to this, participants can enjoy the experience while laughing a lot, as the title suggests. In addition to individual programs, there are a variety of group programs. The main contents include ecological play for elementary school students as well as mission activities and making family picture frames for families.
The forest healing program takes about two and a half hours, and the guided forest tour program takes about one and a half hours. On rainy days or severe heat waves, it is replaced by an indoor program at the Forest Healing Center. If there are any remaining spaces, you can make an on-site reservation, but it is safer to make a reservation before your visit.

One Night in the Forest of Udusan Mountain

Geochang Anti-Aging Healing Land is divided into recreational and healing forests. The healing forest is the main area of the healing programs, and the recreational forest has accommodation facilities such as the Forest Recreation Center and the Forest House. As the recreational forest opened relatively recently, in November 2021, the facilities are neater than the ones in other recreational forests. The Forest Recreation Center costs 70,000-150,000 won, and the forest house costs 100,000-140,000 won for an overnight stay. In addition, the Children's Playground, Solbaram Forest Experience Center, is popular with families with children. You can experience sand play, a mini suspension bridge, simple climbing, etc. It is safe as eco-friendly wooden pallets are laid on the floor. For adults, the healing cafe within the Forest Healing Center is perfect. Popular menus include Geochang Apple Latte and Apple Honey Bread, made with Geochang's specialty apples.

NOTE

Visitors visiting for one day can park at Geochang Anti-Aging Healing Land's parking lot on weekdays, but on weekends and holidays, they must park at the temporary parking lot (10, Masang-ri, Gajo-myeon) and use the shuttle bus. It is about 4 km away and takes about 10 minutes. Based on Geochang Anti-Aging Healing Land, the last shuttle bus runs 18:20 from March to October and 17:20 from November to February. Visitors using the accomodations can use Geochang Anti-Aging Healing Land's parking lot regardless of weekends or weekdays.
