Synopsis
Inspired by the bestselling novel
written by author Kim Ho-yeon. Set in a small rooftop room, the story follows the lives of four men who, despite their challenges and cheerfulness, are often seen as somewhat pathetic. The novel beautifully captures the realities faced by marginalized individuals, delivering a powerful message of empathy and hope that transcends generations. Within this group, there is a 20s student immersed in exam preparations, a 30s individual searching for employment, a 40s single father, and a 50s divorced man entering the twilight of his life. Each character symbolizes the societal challenges faced by their respective generations. However, as they come together on the scorching Mangwon-dong rooftop during the summer, they form powerful bonds of love, friendship, and shared memories, ultimately transforming into a genuine family. With its strong storyline and skillful direction, the play has continued to evolve since its premiere. It effectively conveys a message of hope to the youth who find themselves lost in an uncertain future.
