Incheon International Airport is well-known for its convenient public transportation. Transportation from the airport to downtown Seoul include the Airport Railroad Express (AREX), Seoul Subway, Airport Limousine Bus, and taxis (international taxis available). The distance from Incheon International Airport (Terminal 1) to Seoul Station is approximately 60 kilometers. It takes 43 minutes by AREX and approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes by car.

Airport Limousine Buses have multiple routes that run between Incheon International Airport and various areas throughout Seoul. You can hop on an Airport Limousine Bus and get to a destination within Seoul on a single ride. Bus tickets can be purchased at the ticket office inside Gate No. 4 or 9, the office outside Gate No. 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 11 on the first floor of Terminal 1, or at the Terminal 2 Transit Center ticket office (B1 floor). You can pay with either cash or credit card at the ticket office.
Most public transportation that travel from the airport into the city of Seoul finish their operation at around 23:30. Identified by the letter “N” in front of the route number, night buses are the only means of public transportation available if you arrive in Korea late at night. These night buses run to Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. You may either tap your transportation card or pay the fare with cash upon boarding.
Taxis are divided into standard taxis, premium deluxe taxis, international taxis with foreign language services, and large deluxe taxis (limousine taxis, jumbo taxis) that are 7- to 11-seater minivans (including the driver). Standard taxis and deluxe taxis can be found at the taxi platform outside the waiting area of Incheon International Airport Terminals 1 and 2. To take an international taxi, you need to make a reservation in advance. Accepted payment methods include cash, credit cards, and transportation cards.

✔ Incheon International Airport to Regional Cities
There are three major options to choose from when traveling from Incheon International Airport to any of the regional cities: airplane, train or bus. If you take the Airport Railroad Express (AREX) and get off at Gimpo International Airport Station, you can take a domestic flight. At Seoul Station, which is the last stop of AREX, the railroad train can be taken to various areas around the country. Buses operate directly from the terminal inside Incheon International Airport to major cities nationwide.
Transit-exclusive domestic flights are available via Korean Air, operating between Gimhae (Busan) and Incheon and between Daegu and Incheon. Keep in mind, transit-exclusive domestic flights are considered as international flights.

✔ Gimpo International Airport to Downtown Seoul
Gimpo International Airport is located approximately 24 kilometers from downtown Seoul. Situated about half the distance from Incheon International Airport to the city center taking approximately one hour, it is a good option for travelers visiting from Japan, China, or Taiwan. From taxis and airport buses to the subway, different means of public transportation are available between the airport and Seoul. In particular, the Airport Railroad Express (AREX) offers fast and convenient transport with just a few stops and avoiding traffic jams.

Three subway lines offer routes from Gimpo International Airport to downtown Seoul: the fast and convenient AREX, and Seoul Subway Lines 5 and 9.
AREX is a commuter (common) train that stops at only five stations between Gimpo International Airport and Seoul Station.

Airport Limousine Buses operate from Gimpo International Airport to various areas in Seoul as well as Incheon International Airport. To take a limousine bus, exit through Gate 1 on the first floor in the international terminal and hop on a bus at Platform 6 or 7 and, at the domestic terminal, walk out of Gate 6 on the first floor and get on a bus on Platform 3, 4, 5 or exit through Gate 4, 5, or 6 to take a bus from platform 13, 14 or 15. The ticket office is located near Gate 1 on the first floor of the domestic terminal.

From Gimpo International Airport travelers can take a city bus to conveniently go to downtown Seoul. A city bus makes more stops than an Airport Limousine Bus, which allows travelers to get off closer to their destination. The city bus is on Platform 4 near Gate 3 on the first floor of the international terminal as well as Platform 2 or 6 near Gate 6 of the domestic terminal. Accepted payment methods include cash, credit cards and transportation cards.

There are standard taxis, deluxe and jumbo taxis, and international taxis with foreign language services. The taxi stands are located by Exit 3 on the first floor of the international terminal as well as in front of Exit 6 or 8 of the domestic terminal.
