The SF dark fantasy action movie "The Witch: Part 2. The Other One" was filmed on location in Jeju Island. Despite possessing overwhelming abilities, the innocent girl, who ventures into the world for the first time, matures against the backdrop of Jeju. Head to the exotic and mythical land of Jeju that added the mystique to the film.
The mysterious mansion of the head chief who initiated the Witch project was filmed at the Phoenix Jeju Glass House and the Yumin Art Nouveau Collection. From any spot in the Glass House's Mint Restaurant, one can enjoy expansive views of the sea, while the Yumin Art Nouveau Collection, renowned for its French Art Nouveau glass art and the beauty of the space itself, is a popular attraction. Visiting Seopjikoji Cape, where the building is located, is also recommended.
A landmark on the eastern side of Jeju, Seopjikoji Cape boasts breathtaking scenery with its red volcanic rock formations and coastal cliffs. The mysterious sequences of the movie captured perfectly by combining the beauty of Seopjikoji Cape's nature, cool and dark-toned CG, and Tadao Ando's modern architecture. Yellow canola flowers bloom in the spring, creating a stunning vista atop the cliffs.
The forest road that the girl, having escaped from the secret research lab Ark, traversed and where she demonstrated her super strength to defeat enemies is at the “sacred forest,” namely, Saryeoni Forest Trail and Cedar Forest Road. The Saryeoni Forest preserves the unique natural environment of Jeju and houses a diverse range of flora and fauna. The forest is conveniently located near the road, and there's no entrance fee, making it a popular attraction.
The setting for the secret research lab Ark, where the Witch project unfolded, is the Seolmundaehalmang Complex within the Stone Culture Park, set to open in the latter half of 2024. 70% of park’s 3 million square meters land is intermingled with stones, trees, and vines, encapsulating Jeju's identity and artistic essence. When viewed from the sky, the Seolmundaehalmang Complex resembles a reclining human figure, perfectly aligning with the enigmatic ambiance of Ark.
