G-DRAGON Pop-up Event Creates BuzzㅡWho’s the Next Star?

The Korea Tourism Organization, in partnership with CHOEADOL, a K-pop fandom platform, organized a pop-up event to celebrate the birthday of K-pop star G-DRAGON. The five-day event, held at HiKR Station on B1 of Incheon International Airport T1, concluded successfully, receiving an enthusiastic response from fans worldwide and visitors to Incheon International Airport.

Themed on “Birthday Café,” a central part of K-pop fandom culture, this pop-up featured a photo zone, limited-edition merchandise, exhibitions, and other engaging content. In addition, a giveaway event invited visitors to share the videos of their experience through social media for a chance to win a chair from G-DRAGON’s fashion brand PEACEMINUSONE, added more enthusiasm to the event.

Among all the events, the most popular was the NAMANE Card event, held on a first-come, first-served basis. NAMANE Card is a rechargeable transportation card and payment card with a unique custom design feature that allows users to personalize their card with the photo of their choiceㅡ making it especially popular among young international travelers. Queues formed in front of HiKR Station even before opening hours to get the NAMANE Card, with some fans customizing their card using photos they had personally taken of G-DRAGON, making it a special collectible card. Thanks to the variety of activities, HiKR Station recorded a 59% increase in daily visitors during the pop-up period.

Building on the success of this event, HiKR Station will host more birthday-themed events in September, featuring upgraded displays and merchandise.
