Park Bo-gum, the global heartthrob beloved for his role in the Netflix hit “When Life Gives You Tangerines (2025),” has been appointed the honorary ambassador for Korea Tourism. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization held an appointment ceremony on July 29, 2025 with around 160 participants, including the “guess the new ambassador” event winners. During the ceremony, promotional videos featuring Park Bo-gum were also unveiled.
Of the two main videos, one is filmed in a fantasy movie style and showcases the breathtaking sights of Korea as Park Bo-gum goes on a trip with his mysterious friend. The other, made like a music video, follows his travel adventures with his group of friends. Both videos highlight the captivating sides of Korea from a traveler’s perspective. The song featured in the video “On My Way” is sung by Park Bo-gum himself, adding a personal and emotional touch to the video.
In addition, two other videos made in collaboration with Netflix, re-interpreting the global hit series “Squid Game” and “All of Us are Dead,” were unveiled, alongside two region-focused videos capturing the charms of Gyeongsangbuk-do and Jeonbuk State through Geommu (Sword Dance) and Seungmu (Monk’s Dance). All videos were met with praise from the participants at the ceremony.
The Korea Tourism Organization is also holding a special event to curate a Korea Travel Playlist. To participate in the event, visitors are required to share one of the promo videos from the Imagine Your Korea YouTube channel and leave a comment on the “COOKIE” video with the song they’d like to listen the most while traveling in Korea. “My Travel Korea” list will be created with the suggested song and will be released in late August. The event runs until August 12, 2025 with various exciting prizes up for grabs, including round-trip flight tickets to Korea.
Audience are sure to be mesmerized by stunning sceneries of Korea as Park Bo-gum leads them on a journey across the country.
