  • From August 30 to September 2, 2025, Siheung City is hosting the 17th National Marine Sports Games, a festival packed with endless marine sports adventure and leisure activities.

This festival is Korea’s largest marine leisure event. Not only do the visitors get to watch thrilling competitions such as yachting, canoeing, and triathlon, but they can also take part in hands-on experience programs like banana boating, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. In addition to sports activities, the festival offers live performances, food booths, face painting, bracelet crafting, and other exciting events, making it enjoyable for everyone.

Geobukseom Island, the venue of the festival, is a popular tourist destination in itself. Attractions like Wave Park, an artificial surfing haven; Paradive, known for its deep diving pool; and Marine Ecology Science Museum, showcasing fascinating exhibitions about marine ecology, draw a high number of visitors during summer. Siheung’s close proximity to Seoul with well-connected public transportation and the shuttle bus running on August 30 and August 31 make it an ideal choice for a summer day trip.
