Omija (Schisandra Chinensis Fruit) is a unique Korean fruit containing five distinctive flavors: sour, sweet, bitter, pungent, and salty. Omija berries produced in Mungyeong, which account for 45% of the country’s production, are known for their excellent quality. Artisan Lee Jong-ki developed the world’s first omija sparkling wine called OmyRosé using Mungyeong omija. As the result of years of research and trial and error, he finally made it recognized for its excellent taste through its selection as a special drink for the 2012 Nuclear Security Summit and a toasting drink for the 2018 PyeongChang Winner Paralympics. Ominara offers visitors an opportunity to get a taste of OmyRosé and its house-made brandy through experience programs, including a winery tour and celebration liquor making. Visitors will have a memorable experience of special wine in the spectacular natural environment of Mungyeong.
