  • Dongbaekseom Island is connected to the western end of Haeundae Beach. Originally an island, it has since become connected to the mainland through natural sedimentation. One can find a walking trail that goes along the coast around the island, from which one can enjoy the view of the lush camellia and pine trees and the scenery of the coast beyond. Dongbaekseom Island is also home to the Dongbaek Park, a mermaid statue, the Nurimaru APEC House, and an inscription made by Silla-era scholar Choe Chi-won, who gave the name “Haeundae” to the area.
