Buyeo, located in Chungcheongnam-do, was once the capital of the ancient kingdom of Baekje. This historical legacy endows the region with a rich cultural heritage, exemplified by historic sites such as the Baengmagang River, Nakhwaam Rock, Busosanseong Fortress, Baekje Cultural Land, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Jeongnimsa Temple Site. In Bukpo, near the center of Buyeo, there are a number of hanok accommodations. Here is a selection of four hanok accommodations that you can stay in Buyeo.

Naseong Stay is a hanok pension with six rooms and a two-story hanok café called Mood Village. The expansive courtyard of the building allows guests to enjoy a barbecue party. The entrance to the hanok building features a majestic gate, making you feel as if you are stepping into an aristocratic Joseon-era manor. The Naseong Stay is on the right side from the entrance, and the two-story hanok building to the left is the Mood Village hanok café.

Five out of six rooms (No. 1 to 5) are furnished as studio rooms, with a staircase that leads to a small attic, while room No. 6 has one bedroom, a living room, kitchen, and a restroom, allowing up to 8 guests to stay at the same time.

This hanok accommodation has two buildings, a single-story hanok and a two-story hanok with wide rooms and an open field of view. The two-story hanok building is now operated as a separate entity called “Uijawang Hanok”, so the accommodations are sometimes known under the name Uijawang Hanok as well.
There are seven rooms in total with different sizes and configurations, ranging from rooms for 2 to 8. The largest room, Room No. 6, has a massage chair. All rooms are equipped with cooking and barbecue facilities.




Dareul Pumeun Hanok
This C-shaped hanok accommodation is named after the love story of Seodong and Princess Seonhwa in a folk song of the Silla dynasty.
There are five rooms with different names, Dain, Seodong, Seonhwa, Gongju, and Madong. All five rooms have different configurations to cater to different preferences. Four out of five rooms, except for Seodong, are furnished as studio rooms. Seodong room has a separate living room and bedroom while Dain room has a kitchen island and a sink, designed for multiple people to cook together.

This two-story hanok accommodation is set up as a pension.
There are four rooms in total, all made up of one bedroom, kitchen and living room, and a bathroom. The interior space is enough for four people to stay. All four rooms are equipped for cooking and can accommodate up to 5 guests per room.
If you stay for two or more days, you can get a discount of 10,000 won per night.




Wolhamji Hanok
As the site of Sabiseong fortress (Present-day Busosanseong Fortress) and the last capital of Baekje, Buyeo, is home to numerous cultural heritages from the ancient kingdom.
Since Bukpo Hanok Village is located at the center Buyeo, you can reach tourist sites such as Gudeurae Ferry Dock, Nakhwaam Rock, Baengmagang River, Buyeo National Museum, Jeongnimsaji Museum, and Baekje Cultural Land within 10 minutes by car.
If you don’t have a car, you don’t have to worry: Buyeo has amphibious bus and city tour bus services that take you to major tourist sites in the region, and you can even float on Baengmagang River with the amphibious bus and feel the echoes of the ancient kingdom.
