Thrills in Pyeongchang, 2026 UCI MTB World Series

The UCI Mountain Bike (MTB) World Series is taking place in May in Pyeongchang, Gangwon State, marking the first time to be held in Asia. A motorsports competition watched by 35 million people from 200 countries worldwide, this year’s event offers a special opportunity to witness dynamic races live against the backdrop of Pyeongchang's scenic nature.

The event’s major competition events take place on the rugged terrain of Balwangsan Mountain. The highlights of the competition consist of three events: the Downhill (DHI) race that starts from the mountain summit and rapidly descends a steep slope, offering intense thrills; the Cross-country Olympic (XCO) race involving running up and down repeatedly; and the Cross-country Short Track (XCC) involving rapidly circling a short course.

Special programs are also prepared to enhance the viewing experience. At the Fan Zone, spectators can watch the game while enjoying unlimited draft beer and snacks. The exclusive VIP Lounge offers premium dining services accompanied by champagne, wine, and more.
Additionally, EDM and hip-hop performances are held after the games on May 1 and 2, turning the event to a hybrid festival where visitors can enjoy sports during the day and music at night.
