“Year of the Horse, 2026: Galloping into Eternity,” a Special Exhibition to Welcome the Year of the Red Horse

In celebration of 2026, “Year of the Red Horse,” a special exhibition featuring Korean history and art is taking place in Myeong-dong. The Korea Heritage Service and Shinsegae Co., Ltd. have teamed up to present “Year of the Horse, 2026: Galloping into Eternity” from January 9 to 25 at SHINSEGAE THE HERITAGE.

Centered on the theme of horses, this multifaceted exhibition comprises archaeological artifacts, traditional crafts, and media art. In particular, replicas of historic relics such as a clay horse figurine, a saddle flap decorated with jewel beetle wings, and a gilt-bronze crown showcase the beauty and refined craftsmanship of the Silla period. Additionally, the exhibition features photographs by National Geographic as well as works reinterpreted through contemporary sculptural art. Another highlight is an AI-generated video depicting changing scenery from the perspective of a rider mounted on a galloping horse.
