The following policy contains policies that are mandated by relevant laws as well as information deemed necessary by VISITKOREA for protecting your personal location information.

This Privacy Policy discloses how VISITKOREA protects your location information in accordance with Article 21-2 of Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information (hereinafter “Protection Act”) and relevant laws, for the purpose of providing a better understanding of your rights and facilitating the swift and convenient resolution of related disputes.
1. Purpose of Processing and the Retention Period of Location Information The VISITKOREA collects, uses, and provides location information within the scope stated in VISITKOREA Location-based Service Terms of Use, and has set a purpose and retention period for each location information.

In accordance with the Protection Act Article 16(2), VISITKOREA shall record and retain the data verifying the collection, use, and provision of information for at least one year.
VISITKOREA shall immediately destroy your personal location information, excluding data verifying the use and provision of location information, upon achieving the intended purpose.
VISITKOREA shall not provide to a third party your location information or the data verifying the use and provision of location information outside the scope stated in the VISITKOREA Location-based Service Terms of Use without your consent, except in any one of the following cases:
• Where the information is provided in an encrypted form where the User remains anonymous for the purpose of data analysis, academic research, or marketing survey.
• Where it has been mandated by related laws
• In the event VISITKOREA means to provide a service based on your location information, VISITKOREA must notify and receive your consent in advance.
• In the event VISITKOREA discloses your location information to a third party, VISITKOREA must immediately notify you of the party involved, provision date, and purpose of providing location information.
If VISITKOREA intends to collect, use, or provide personal location information of a child under the age of 14, it shall obtain the consent of their legal representative. However, only individuals aged 14 or older can register for VISITKOREA membership. Children under the age of 14, who require the consent of their legal representatives for the collection and use of personal information, are deemed to have consented to the collection and use of personal location information if they grant location access permission while using the VISITKOREA App. Relevant laws and regulations apply as stipulated in Article 25 of the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information.
① A company that intends to collect, use, or provide personal location information of a child under the age of 14 shall obtain the consent of their legal representative and verify such consent as required by the Presidential Decree.
②The provisions of Article 18 (2), Article 19 (5), and Article 24 shall apply mutatis mutandis to cases where a legal representative gives consent pursuant to ①. In such cases, the subject of the personal location information shall be deemed to be the legal representative.
If VISITKOREA intends to collect, use, or provide personal location information of a child 8 years of age or younger, etc., it shall obtain the consent of their legal representative. However, only individuals aged 14 or older can register for VISITKOREA membership. Children 8 years of age or younger, etc., who require the consent of their legal representatives for the collection and use of personal information, are deemed to have consented to the collection and use of personal location information if they grant location access permission while using the VISITKOREA App. Relevant laws and regulations apply as stipulated in Article 26 of the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information.
① If a legal guardian of any of the followings (hereinafter referred to as child 8 years of age or younger, etc.”) gives consent to the collection, use, or provision of personal location information regarding the child of 8 years of age or younger, etc., for the protection of latter’s health and safety, it shall be deemed that the latter has personally given the consent thereto:
1. A child 8 years of age or younger;
2. An adult under guardianship;
3. A personal with mental disability as defined in Article 2 (2) of the Act on Welfare of Persons with Disabilities, a person with severe disability as defined under Article 2 (2) of the Act on the Employment Promotion and Vocational Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, limited only to those who are registered as disabled under the Article 32 of the Act on Welfare of Persons with Disabilities.
②The legal guardian of a child 8 years of age or younger, etc., referred to in paragraph ①, means a de facto guardian who falls under any of the following subparagraphs:
1. The legal representative of a child of 8 years of age or younger or a legal guardian under Article 3 of the Act on the Guardianship of Minors in Protective Facilities;
2. The legal representative of a person under adult guardianship;
3. The legal representative of a person described in subparagraph 3 of paragraph ①, the head of a residential facility for persons with disabilities under Article 58 (1) 1 of the Act on Welfare of Persons with Disabilities (limited to any facility established and operated by the State or a local government), the head of a mental health institution defined in Article 22 of the Act on the Improvement of Mental Health and the Support for Welfare Services for Mental Patients (limited to any facility established and operated by the State or a local government), or the head of a mental health rehabilitation facility defined in Article 26 of the same Act.
③ Requirements related to giving consent under paragraph ① shall be prescribed by the Presidential Decree.
④ Articles 18 to 22, and 24 shall apply mutatis mutandis to cases where a legal representative gives consent pursuant to paragraph ②. In such cases, the subject of the personal location information shall be deemed to be the legal representative.
