    Located by Dongdaemun History and Culture Park Station on Subway Lines 2, 4 and 5, Dongdaemun Design Plaza boasts excellent accessibility and also has a cultural complex designed by world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid, so it is widely regarded as a mecca of shopping and an attraction for diverse cultural experiences.     The bustling area from Apgujeong-ro 12gil to Dosan-daero 13gil in Gangnam-gu, Seoul is often called 'Sinsa-dong Garosu-gil Road.' The name is known to have stemmed from the street trees, or Garosu in Korean, that stand in a long line along the street.     This market is famous for Jeju’s own specialty products like hallabong and omegi tteok (Jeju-style rice cake) as well as meat noodles, Jeju Gujwa Gwajeul (a kind of traditional snack) and octopus bread. Over the past few years, it has become a one-stop shopping attraction that sells everything from trendy desserts such as Udo peanut ice cream that young people in their 20s and 30s enjoy eating to unique souvenirs like dol hareubang (stone grandpa) goods with fun ideas.

    The unique aspect about a “five-day market,” which is a kind of a traditional Korean market, is that it opens exactly once every five days. Jeju Five-day Folk Market opens on dates that end in 2 or 7, and every time it opens, it does so on a dominating scale. Because it only takes about 10 minutes by car from Jeju Airport, there are many travelers who purchase souvenirs and more here before they wrap up their trip.
