There are eight international airports (Incheon, Gimpo, Gimhae, Jeju, Daegu, Cheongju, Muan, and Yangyang) in Korea and, among them, visitors from abroad are likely already familiar with Incheon International Airport, which its excellence as a global airport has been well-recognized, and Jeju International Airport, where the beautiful landscape of Jeju Island can be enjoyed. Recently, more international routes have been added at regional airports, including Gimhae International Airport and Cheongju International Airport, allowing travelers to easily arrive at regions outside of Seoul metropolitan area. Incheon International Airport
Located approximately 60 kilometers from the center of Seoul, Incheon International Airport serves as the main international hub that represents Korea. With nearly all domestic and international air carriers flying into Seoul landing at Incheon International Airport, it connects major international routes to 160 cities in about 50 countries across North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. Domestic flights to Jeju has also become available in 2026. Depending on the airline, flights arrive at either Passenger Terminal 1 or 2. When moving between terminals, use the free shuttle bus or pay a small fare to take the Airport Railroad Express.

This is the gateway airport to Busan, Korea’s second largest city. It operates 47 international routes to 14 destinations, including China, Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Taiwan. You can take either a bus or the subway to downtown Busan and the trip takes approximately 40 minutes to an hour depending on the destination. Free shuttle buses operate from the International Terminal to the Domestic Terminal.

Jeju Island is Korea’s largest island as well as the most famous travel destination in the country. The Seoul-Jeju route is known as one of the busiest routes in the world. For international flights, it operates 22 routes to six destinations, including China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. The airport is located close to downtown Jeju so it takes approximately 15 minutes by city bus to Jeju Intercity Bus Terminal. It is also convenient to use rental cars.
✔Rental car guide at Jeju International Airport
Rental cars are prohibited to park in Jeju International Airport parking lots. All rental car companies have their own offices near the airport and offer free airport pick-up and drop-off via shuttle bus. Wait at the designated shuttle bus stop of your rental car company and take the shuttle bus provided by the rental car company. Upon returning the rental car, the rental car company will provide a free drop-off service at the airport as well.

This airport is located in Chungcheongbuk-do, the center of Korea. It has convenient transportation options to the nearby cities of Cheongju and Daejeon as well as other parts of Chungcheong region. It operates 25 international routes to seven destinations, including Japan, China, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Taiwan. From Cheongju International Airport to the closest KTX station, Osong Station, it takes approximately 50 minutes by city bus and approximately 20 minutes by Mugunghwa Train.

This international airport is located in downtown Daegu, Korea’s third largest city. It operates 20 international routes to nine destinations, including China, Japan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. It is convenient to travel from Daegu International Airport to attractions in Daegu, Gyeongju, and nearby regions in Gyeongsangbuk-do. It takes approximately 20 minutes by city bus to Dongdaegu Station, a KTX train stop.

Yangyang International Airport is the lone international airport in Gangwon State, the northeastern region of Korea. It offers irregular flights to China and certain cities in Southeast Asia. You can get to Gangneung and Sokcho, two of the most famous tourist cities on the east coast, in 30 to 40 minutes by intercity bus from the airport.
* Muan International Airport is temporarily closed through June 29, 2026. Muan International Airport is the lone international airport in the Jeolla region, the southwestern part of Korea. It operates international flights to Japan, China, Taiwan, and certain Southeast Asian cities. It also operates domestic flights to Jeju, Gimpo, and Ulsan. It takes around 40 minutes by city bus to Muan Bus Terminal, the closest terminal from the airport.
