Forest Bathing in Hot Springs

Seolhae Hot Spring draws hot spring water from water veins flowing beneath gneiss layers retaining traces of tectonic changes 1.9 billion years ago and granite layers formed 230 million years ago. The abundance of the water veins allows the resort to use only natural hot spring water without mixing groundwater or reclying used water. Visitors can enjoy facilities including Hot Spring Sauna, Open-Air Spa, Hot Spring Swimming Pool, Myeonyeok Gongbang, and CLARI Spa.

The defining features of the Hot Spring Sauna include an open-air hot spring with a view of the forest and a sauna with a strong cypress scent. The open-air spa is located at the highest point in Seolhae Hot Spring that offers one of the best views of the beautiful surrounding scenery. There are pocket tables and cabanas where families can relax in comfort. One floor below, Hot Spring Swimming Pool on the ground level (B2F) also offers a breathtaking view of nature. The swimming pool uses hot spring water supplied directly from the source, which is a perk that few outdoor swimming pools can claim to offer. The place offers a chance to enjoy hot spring bathing and forest bathing all at once. You can enter the area through the front desk on B1F, where Seolhae Hot Spring Spa is located.

A Shelter for Immune Boosting and Detoxification

At Myeonyeok Gongbang, you can experience heat therapy using the Padongseok bed. Padongseok is a mineral emitting far-infrared rays and negative ions that boost your immunity. It’s quite simple to use, too; all you have to do is just lie down, and toxins are removed from your body. Put a towel on a Padongseok bed and lie face down on the bed for 5 minutes. Then, turn over and lie down again for 10 minutes, and go outside and rest for 5 minutes. Repeat the cycle three times. You may want to drink plenty of water before and after the session, as you will sweat a lot throughout the process. A visit to Myeonyeok Gongbang takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. You can choose which bed to use, and you may need to wait because the maximum number of visitors is limited.

CLARI Spa provides personalized “integrative medicine” programs. Personal aromatherapy is a wellness program that helps the body's metabolic and circulatory functions using four types of oil blended by a clinical professional aromatherapist according to each individual's condition and symptoms. You can experience various therapy programs after consultation with the expert, such as the Face Energy Ritual and Intensive Regenerating.
 

NOTE

There is a study and a letter room on the ground level (B2F) where the Hot Spring Swimming Pool is located. You can enrich your mind with colorful books in the study, or compose handwritten letters in the letter room. Wooden bookshelves filled with books spanning the walls, as well as the rocking chairs and low-back chairs, provide a different kind of comfort than the hot spring. The study and the letter room are open from 07:00-10:00.
