  • Donggung Palace is the only palace where visitors can get a glimpse of the palace of the thousand-year Silla Kingdom. It was also the secondary palace used by the crown prince of the kingdom and it served as a banquet site for important visitors as well as a meeting place for officials. Wolji Pond, meaning a pond that reflects the moon, is an artificial pond created inside the palace where the palace's lighting reflects, creating a beautiful, mesmerizing nightscape. Around the palace and pond, Gyeongju's landmarks are lined up, including the Daereungwon Ancient Tomb Complex, Cheomseongdae Observatory, Gyerim Forest, Seokbinggo (Stone Ice Storage), Gyochon Traditional Village, and Gyeongju National Museum.
