If you are visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace or strolling through the historic streets of Jongno or Gwanghwamun, this is one of the most extraordinary cultural experiences in Korea you won’t want to miss.
In the heart of Insa-dong, a blockbuster-scale exhibition unfolds where centuries-old Korean traditional craftsmanship meets state-of-the-art media art. This special exhibition is presented by “CookieRun: Kingdom,” a global IP game beloved by more than 300 million players worldwide.
This is more than an exhibition. It is a remarkable moment where Korea’s past and digital future intersect. Whether you are interested in traditional Korean culture, exploring K-culture, or seeking a unique experience in Seoul, this exhibition is an unmissable cultural destination.
Titled “CookieRun: Kingdom Art Project – Legacy of the Kingdom,” this special exhibition showcases 10 traditional craftworks created by master artisans recognized as Korea’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. From mother-of-pearl lacquerware to time-honored techniques passed down through generations, beloved characters have been newly reinterpreted through the living hands of master artisans.
Spanning 2,800㎡ across 12 immersive spaces, the exhibition takes over the entire Ara Art Center in Insa-dong—from the ground floor to four basement levels. More than a display of artworks, it expands the emotional impact of each piece through interactive media art, allowing visitors to experience traditional Korean craftsmanship not as heritage confined behind museum glass, but as a living culture that continues to breathe and evolve.
VISITKOREA and CookieRun: Kingdom are hosting a special complimentary invitation event exclusively for VK members. A total of 5 teams (2 tickets per team, 10 tickets in total) will be selected through a random drawing to receive a special admission package for the exhibition free of charge. Winners may collect their special admission bands at the 1st-floor ticket booth of Ara Art Center after verification of their name and passport.
Even if you are not selected, a foreigner-exclusive K-Traditional Goods Package is available for purchase via GetYourGuide. The package includes an exhibition admission band, a poster, and a handcrafted wooden norigae made by a traditional Korean mask artisan—making it a meaningful souvenir for international visitors who wish to commemorate their special exhibition experience in Korea.
