Gochang Wellparkcity is Korea’s first wellness complex designed as a village for a dignified retirement lifestyle. Equipped with a spa, accommodations, a hospital, and more, it provides integrated healing programs that combine hot springs, hydrotherapy, and various therapies, centered around the Seokjeong Hot Spring Hue Spa and the Holon Center. With the opening of the 91-room Wellpark Hotel in April 2025, the destination has evolved beyond a day-trip site into an extended-stay retreat for visitors of all ages.
Wellness Program

Outdoor spa at Seokjeong Hot Spring Hue Spa
The core facility of Gochang Wellparkcity is the Seokjeong Hot Spring Hue Spa, which features hot spring baths and water play areas. Both the large bath and indoor/outdoor spas use internationally certified germanium hot spring water, the second in the world to receive such recognition after the Lourdes Spring in France. Germanium is known to help boost immunity, reduce inflammation, and relieve fatigue, and is also believed to support cancer prevention by promoting the production of gamma interferon.

The Seokjeong Hot Spring Hue Spa is divided into a large bath area and indoor/outdoor spas. The indoor spa comprises 11 hydrotherapy facilities, including a “Walking Current Pool” that helps strengthen the lower back and ankles, a “Neck Shower” that relaxes tense muscles with water pressure, and “Floating” for zero-gravity stretching. These facilities are particularly effective for physical recovery among middle-aged and older adults. The outdoor spa has separate pools for adults and for infants and toddlers. With features like slides and waterfall baths, it provides a water-park–like experience perfect for family fun. The area also includes a cool, comfortable dome-shaped rest area and cabanas styled like traditional pavilions.

Wave Therapy Bath
Located within Healing County, the Holon Center offers a therapeutic hot spring experience different from that of the Seokjeong Hot Spring Hue Spa. Here, guests can combine germanium hot springs with a wave therapy bath, a treatment designed to enhance immunity and support detoxification. The wave therapy bath involves a sequence of lying face down for 5 minutes, lying on your back for 10 minutes, and resting for 5 minutes, repeated three times on wave stones heated to 45–50°C. This process is believed to help eliminate waste and toxins from the body and can boost immunity by as much as four to six times.
After your wellness experience, refuel with a nutritious meal at Green Story, the immune-boosting restaurant located inside Healing County’s Healing Center. The third floor of the Healing Center houses a charming café, offering the perfect spot for a peaceful tea break.

Gochangeupseong Walled Town
Built in the early Joseon period, Gochangeupseong Walled Town is a representative flatland stone fortress of the Honam region. Its walls, approximately 1.7 kilometers in circumference and 4–6 meters high, have been preserved in their entirety. Inside, restored structures such as the Gaeksa (guesthouse for government officials) and Dongheon (government office) offer a glimpse into the era’s administrative and military functions. The fortress trail, which provides a panoramic view of the entire site, was selected by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport as one of the “100 Most Beautiful Roads in Korea,” making it well worth a short walk.
