Chadeokbun is a traditional teahouse that harmoniously blends the elegance of tradition with a modern sensibility. Breaking the stereotype that “tea is difficult,” it offers visitors a comfortable yet refined tea ceremony experience. Savor a cup of tea while taking in the wide-open ocean view, a welcome pause in the rush of everyday life.

    Wellness Program

    • At Chadeokbun, guests can enjoy the “K-Tea Ceremony Cultural Experience,” a curated course of traditional tea and refreshments led by a professional tea sommelier. The experience begins with a welcome tea that changes with the weather, followed by a selection of traditional teas such as magnolia blossom tea and Gyeongju Hongam tea. Guests are then served the signature special dessert tray, three types of rice cakes, and a dessert ice cream in sequence. This 60-minute program is available by phone reservation.

The word “dado” (traditional tea ceremony) often carries a sense of formality, suggesting that even drinking a single cup of tea involves strict rules and etiquette. At Chadeokbun, however, tea can be approached with a lighter heart. While honoring the core principles of dado, Chadeokbun reflects the spirit of “on-go-ji-shin” (learning new things by revisiting the old) through its polished interior design and creative dessert pairings.

Chadeokbun offers a diverse selection of traditional teas, each with different brewing methods and raw ingredients. Its signature offering is “Wolgwang Baek,” a cold-brewed white tea limited to just 10 cups per day. True to its name, which means “moonlight white,” the tea is handpicked at night and naturally dried in the shade or under the moonlight. The young white tea leaves are then slowly brewed for over 20 hours in cold water, sparkling water, or milk, creating a rich and layered flavor and aroma. Among the loose-leaf options, “Gyeongju Hongam Tea,” made from leaves harvested near Danseoksan Mountain in Gyeongju, is especially popular. It is a premium fermented tea crafted through a blend of traditional techniques and modern fermentation methods.

Floral teas with names as fragrant as their aroma are also available. One highlight is “Baby Seolguk,” made from young chrysanthemums that bloom in snowy highlands. In the teacup, the dried bud slowly unfurls as if breathing, leaving a lasting impression. Another signature item is the “Seorak Magnolia Blossom Tea,” made from magnolia flowers that bloom briefly in season.

Chadeokbun’s signature “Special Dessert Tray” presents a beautiful harmony of traditional flavors and modern aesthetics. Delicacies such as colorful red bean butter monaka, sweet bean panna cotta, walnut-dried persimmon rolls, and Gwangcheon seaweed oranda are neatly arranged on a round tray. Each sweet uses traditional Korean ingredients reinterpreted with a modern touch, offering both visual delight and rich flavor. The dry ice effect flowing beneath the tray adds a dreamy atmosphere, bringing a touch of magic to the tea experience.
