Taekwondo is a sport based on Korea’s traditional martial arts. Taekwondo includes martial arts techniques as well as thoughts and philosophy. Taekwondowon, at the foot of Baegunsan Mountain, the ridge of Deogyusan Mountain, is a place to learn and practice the spirit of taekwondo with body and mind. As a mecca for world Taekwondo practitioners, the scale is also very large. The total site is 2,314,000 m². The entire valley is Taekwondowon, including the T1 Theater and stadium, the National Taekwondo Museum, the accommodation facility Doyakgwan, Ohaengpokpo Falls, an observatory, and more. Experience Taekwondo in various ways, including watching Taekwondo matches and performances, lodging, and trekking in the embrace of Mother Nature.

    Taekwondowon’s Proud Taekwondo Demonstration

Foreigners or family visitors new to Taekwondo should start by watching the Taekwondo demonstration. The demonstration is exciting as it adds entertainment elements, such as allowing the audience to experience it for themselves after watching it.

The demonstration is held 1-2 times a day. First, various performances such as poomsae, breaking, Taekwondo dance, and extreme Taekwondo is shown. A big advantage is that you can see the spectacular techniques of Taekwondo up close. After the performance, you can learn Taekwondo dance and Taekwondo striking. It is a perfect Taekwondo experience for the whole family. The Taekwondo demonstration has been the most popular program since Taekwondowon opened. Numbered tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis on the day, but they close early.

Taekwondo Stay: From Healing Meditation to Monorail

Taekwondo Stay is perfect for individuals (2 or more people) who want to experience Taekwondo more seriously. When you enter Taekwondowon and receive a Taekwondo uniform, you feel special. Next, during the stay period, visitors can participate in two types of Taekwondo training (Taekwondo experience).
Taekwondo's training program is largely comprised of experience type, training type, and activity type; each with detailed programs. Healing Taekwondo Exercise is the representative experience program. It is a freehand Taekwondo exercise where you can enjoy basic Taekwondo postures and kicks with music. Training-type Intensive Taekwondo Meditation is a dynamic and, at the same time, static meditation that combines Taekwondo movements and breathing techniques. Taekwondo Healing Therapy trains the body's strength and flexibility through the lower part of the abdomen and lower body training. The activity type includes Chaeinji-ro Trekking. Enjoy the nature of Baegunsan Mountain by trekking the Pyeongwon Course (beginner), Taebaek Course (intermediate), and Ilyeo Course (advanced) within the Taekwondowon. In addition, the Taekwondo Stay includes a monorail that allows easy access to the observatory and a pass that allows you to use the YAP Experience Center equipped with VR&AR contents, enabling you to enjoy the feeling of travel.

The detailed program varies depending on the theme of each period, such as healing week or family week, so it is best to check and sign up in advance. In the case of groups, they can use Taekwondo training content separately from the Taekwondo Stay. The minimum number of people is ten for foreigners and 20 for Koreans. You must make a reservation in advance.
