Jukdo Beach: The Perfect Place for a Surfing Workation

Jukdo Beach, home to the surfing haven and Waveworks Yangyang—a work center for digital nomads—is the ultimate destination for a surfing workation. Waveworks, built as part of the Smart Tourism City Project, offers everything you need for productive remote work. The center is equipped with workstations featuring individual power outlets, meeting rooms, and printers. Long tables in an open area surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows create a bright and inspiring working environment.

In addition to work facilities, Waveworks features a coffee and drink bar, a small library with books on the ocean, ecology, and surfing, and a corner showcasing various local products.

Enjoy Surfing in Yangyang the Smart Way

Since you're in Yangyang, Korea's surfing capital, why not give surfing a try? You can enjoy the waves right at Jukdo Beach, the birthplace of Yangyang's surfing boom and still a popular spot. Other great options nearby include Ingu Beach, Surf Beach (Korea’s first surfing-only beach), and the increasingly popular Jangyo-ri Beach.

Yangyang’s smart tourism platform has all the information you need about surfing spots. By tapping on a beach name, you can quickly access useful details, including wave surf cams that show real-time wave conditions, wave charts with weather, wind, and tide information, and guidance on which conditions suit beginners or advanced surfers.

You can also search for surf shops easily. Enter your preferred beach and date, and the platform will suggest surf shops that fit your needs. Browse business details and reviews to find the right one for you. After completing a course, you can even earn a certificate from the app.

Naksan Beach and Naksansa Temple: From Stamp Tours to AR Games

Yangyang’s smart tourism platform offers a variety of fun programs, including stamp tours, AR games, and information on surfing experiences. If you want to experience it all, Jukdo Beach and Naksan Beach are must-visit spots.

The Stamp Tour lets you explore the Yangyang Baram-gil Trail, which winds through Yangyang’s stunning natural landscapes. As you walk, you can collect stamps via the app. The trail includes 10 courses, and the app provides all the details you need, such as trail descriptions, duration, and stamp QR code locations. Course 6, the Naksan Beach Trail, is especially popular since it features Naksan Beach and Naksansa Temple, two of Yangyang’s top attractions.

At the end of Naksan Beach, you’ll find Naksansa Temple, renowned for its breathtaking seaside scenery. This historic temple is home to many treasures, including Hongnyeonam Hermitage, Uisangdae Pavilion, and the Seven-story Stone Pagoda. Visitors can also enjoy the Naksansa Temple AR Exploration Game, which enhances the experience with interactive features. Similar AR experiences are available at other popular spots, such as Jukdo Beach, Yangyang Traditional Market, and the Mongdolsori-gil Trail.
