Gyeongwonjae by Walkerhill is a five-star hanok-sty.le hotel themed “A Stroll Through Korea’s History.” Built in the architectural styles of the Goryeo and Joseon dynasties, the property embodies the beauty of traditional Korean craftsmanship. Master carpenter Choi Ki-young, a holder of both UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage and Important Intangible Cultural Property titles, led the project alongside other artisans, including master lacquerers, roof-tile craftsmen, mother-of-pearl inlay masters, and traditional wooden window craftsmen. Each room includes a spacious cypress bathtub, and depending on the room type, guests can also enjoy amenities such as a large wooden floor (daecheongmaru), courtyard, or dry sauna.
