  Introduction
  
  Opened in February 2014, Catholic Kwandong University International St. Mary’s Hospital is a university hospital closest to Incheon International Airport, the gateway to Korea.
  The hospital has established a patient-centered care system convenient for both domestic and international patients, supported by an excellent medical team and cutting-edge medical equipment. Above all, inspired by the Catholic Church’s noble spirit of “Respect for Human Life,” all staff members care for patients as if they were our own family with the spirit of sacrifice.
  This commitment has led the hospital to achieve the highest grade in evaluations for the four major cancers and to rank first among general hospitals nationwide in two patient experience assessments conducted since 2018.
  To uphold the sanctity of life and fulfill its social responsibilities, International St. Mary’s Hospital operates the largest hospice and palliative care unit among university hospitals in Korea, with 29 beds dedicated to preserving the dignity and quality of life of patients. The hospital is also committed to ongoing social contributions, including providing medical support for the underprivileged, participating in domestic and international medical volunteer activities, conducting campaigns for pregnant women, and supporting medical care for students with severe multiple disabilities in collaboration with the local community.

  February 2014: Established International St. Mary’s Hospital September 2014: Became an affiliated hospital of Catholic Kwandong University December 2014: Designated as an intern and resident training hospital December 2015: Achieved 1st-grade ratings in six categories of Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service’s quality assessment September 2016: Received the Prime Minister’s Commendation for contributions to national sports development December 2016: Performed Korea’s first prostate artery embolization September 2017: Awarded the Minister of Health and Welfare Award as a customized cancer treatment hospital June 2018: Earned 1st-grade ratings in the quality assessment for (stomach, lung, breast, and colon) cancers February 2019: Signed an MOU with Incheon Medical Center to enhance public healthcare June 2021: Awarded the Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation for contributions to COVID-19 response January 2022: Certified as a thrombectomy-capable stroke center by the Korean Stroke Society April 2023: Served as an initial hub-hospital for severe trauma patients in Seo-gu, Incheon
