Baseball fields are fantastic venues for international visitors seeking a uniquely Korean cultural experience. Even if you aren’t particularly interested in baseball, attending a game in Korea feels like joining a massive celebration, where fans wearing their team’s jerseys sing together and enjoy K-Foods like “chimaek” (chicken and beer). If you’re lucky, you might even spot a celebrity stepping up to the mound for the first pitch.

Korean baseball stadiums allow visitors to bring in food, within reason, so many fans purchase their snacks before entering the spectator zone. The most popular choices are fried chicken, pizza, and other finger foods that pair well with beer. In fact, many stadiums in Korea offer signature dishes at their concession stands. For example, Seoul’s Jamsil Baseball Stadium serves the “One Shot Chicken”, a three-in-one cup of fried chicken, fries, and beer. Daejeon’s Hanwha Life Eagles Park features “Nongsim Garak Tteokbokki”, a dish with 60 years of history, while Changwon NC Park offers draft beer served in massive baseball bat-shaped vessels.

    | Highlight 2. First Pitches and Bats by Korean Celebrities

If you’re lucky, you might catch a Korean celebrity throwing the first pitch, as KBO games often feature first pitch events involving celebrities and K-Pop stars. This year alone, many K-Pop idols such as ASTRO's Cha Eun-woo, aespa's Winter & Karina, Red Velvet's Irene, TWS' Shinyu & Dohoon, TWICE's Sana, and THE BOYZ' Hyunjae have appeared and rocked the ballpark.

Baseball teams often organize engaging events for guests as well. For example, Christmas decorations bring holiday cheer in summer, while water guns and cannons help beat the heat with refreshing sprays. DJs can turn the stadium into a massive outdoor club, and photo booths decorated with team designs offer great opportunities for memorable snapshots.

Looking to bring a memento from the game back home? Head to the merch shop to grab jerseys, caps, headbands, and cheering bats. Recently, collaboration merchandise with popular characters like KAKAO Friends and ZANMANG LOOPY has become especially popular, particularly among young women. These items make for truly unique souvenirs that blend the spirit of Korean baseball with beloved Korean characters.
