Step 1. Pre-travel prep

○ Check before entering Korea

Look-up regulations based on your airline	Request advanced approval for pet travel in accordance with airline regulations (While some airlines allow on-site application, the number of permitted pets per aircraft is limited; applying for permission in advance is recommended)
Make a trip itinerary	Check pet-allowance information for attractions, accommodations, and other facilities you plan to use during your trip

Rules for boarding with a pet

・Prepare appropriate carrier according to airline rules
(Place waterproof pad, towel, blanket, or other absorbent material on the bottom)

・Arrive at airport early to complete pet processing

・Feed and water pet at least 2 hours before flight departure time

・For passenger safety, pet must remain in their designated carrier for duration of the flight; removing pet from carrier is not permitted

・Carrier must be placed under the seat in front of traveler; placing in the overhead bin or held in one’s lap is not permitted

Step 3. Entering Korea

・Fill out the customs declaration form (carry-on goods declaration form) while on the flight

・Upon arrival at the airport, submit your quarantine certificate to the animal quarantine officer before passing customs inspection.
(If animal quarantine requirements are not met, quarantine will be held at a separate location)

・Keep pet in designated carrier while in the airport
(If unavoidable, pet can be kept on a leash (within 50 cm) or in a pet stroller)

・Maintain pet on a leash within a 2 meter radius when outside

・Be aware of your surroundings to avoid causing an accident in crowded areas

・Hold your pet in your arms or next to your body with a short leash when inside elevators or other public areas of buildings

Templestay at Busan Hongbeopsa Temple

Hongbeopsa Temple in Busan allows travelers to enjoy a templestay experience with their pets. Your canine friends will love running around the large grassy field and for going on walks through the forest. Pet participation is limited to one pet per person.
