    Step 1. Pre-travel prep

    ○ Check before entering Korea

    Prepare quarantine inspection paperwork Prepare quarantine paperwork certified by the government agency of the country of origin
    (Passengers traveling from the European Union can use the EU Pet Passport)
    1) Microchip implant: Identification number must be included in the paperwork
    2) Rabies neutralizing antibody test (FAVN, FRRIT): Results must be included in the paperwork

    (While some airlines allow on-site application, the number of permitted pets per aircraft is limited; applying for permission in advance is recommended)

    Rules for boarding with a pet

    ・Prepare appropriate carrier according to airline rules
    (Place waterproof pad, towel, blanket, or other absorbent material on the bottom)

    ・Arrive at airport early to complete pet processing

    ・Feed and water pet at least 2 hours before flight departure time

    ・For passenger safety, pet must remain in their designated carrier for duration of the flight; removing pet from carrier is not permitted

    ・Carrier must be placed under the seat in front of traveler; placing in the overhead bin or held in one’s lap is not permitted

    Step 3. Entering Korea

    ・Fill out the customs declaration form (carry-on goods declaration form) while on the flight

    ・Upon arrival at the airport, submit your quarantine certificate to the animal quarantine officer before passing customs inspection.
    (If animal quarantine requirements are not met, quarantine will be held at a separate location)

    ・Keep pet in designated carrier while in the airport
    (If unavoidable, pet can be kept on a leash (within 50 cm) or in a pet stroller)
