As a place to awaken visitors’ artistic sensibility, the Museum of Contemporary Art Busan captures people’s eyes with its exterior resembling a giant cube. Designed by French botanist and artist Patrick Blanc, Vertical Garden is a building facade of 175 species of living plants native to Busan, turning the building itself into a giant art piece. Other impressive indoor facilities include MOCAIVE, an archive that exhibits the museum’s holdings, and Book Island, a reading space for children, using the reef field of Eulsukdo Island as a motif. After a museum tour, you can also appreciate the stunning views of Eulseukdo Island, an important natural habitat for migratory birds.
