Located by the beach near Cape Seopjikoji of Jeju, Yumin Art Nouveau Collection exhibits the most elegant and beautiful glass crafts. The artworks by Ecole de Nancy artists such as Émile Gallé, Auguste Daum, Antonin Daum, Eugène Michel, which comprise the majority of the museum’s holdings, feature their elegant silhouette and colors inspired by nature. Displayed as a solo exhibition, Émile Gallé’s mushroom lamp allows visitors to take a peek at the artist’s naturalistic designs materialized by warm light and natural aesthetic elements. The building itself has intriguing architectural elements such as exposed concrete facades, walls made of basalt, and long horizontal windows. The structure was designed by internationally renowned architect Ando Tadao, creating a space for visitors to focus on naturalistic features of water, wind, light, and sound. Don’t miss the stunning views of Cape Seopjikoji and Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone overlooked from “Grand Wing” installed in the museum garden.
