Its three buildings, MUSEUM 1, MUSEUM 2, and Child Education & Culture Center, were designed by internationally renowned architects Mario Botta, Jean Nouvel, and Rem Koolhaas, allowing visitors to have fun identifying their distinctive architectural features reflected in the buildings. The museum houses modern and contemporary art by both Korean and international artists, from Park Soo-keun and Lee Jung-seob to Alberto Giacometti and Damien Hirst. It also displays some of the greatest artworks designated as Treasures and National Treasures of Korea, including calligraphy, paintings, ceramic arts, and metal craftwork by Jeong Seon, Kang Se-hwang, Kim Hong-do, Kim Jeong-hui, and more.
