    Suyeonsanbang Café

Hanok, a building style which embraces traditional Korean beauty, is an attractive place where you can enjoy a cozy space and beautiful scenery that changes with the seasons. We introduce a collection of hanok houses in the city that have been featured in popular entertainment programs such as a museum where you can immerse yourself in the beauty of hanok houses and traditional Korean furniture, hanok stays and hanok cafés that will provide a rest for your daily life.

    Korea Furniture Museum

The elegant hanok that BTS fell in love with

It is a specialized museum that exhibits about 2,550 pieces of traditional household items, such as earthenware and brassware, centered on 10 traditional Korean houses and traditional wooden furniture. It was also selected as the “Most Beautiful Museum in Seoul” by CNN. The entire place boasts the beauty of traditional hanok, from the front gate through which seven BTS members entered to the separate house, kitchen space, backyard, and the inner courtyard, all showcased on the episode of “You Quiz on the Block” when BTS was interviewed. It is operated on a 100% reservation basis through the website, and all tours are with a guide.

    Suyeonsanbang Café

A hanok café with a beautiful Korean garden

It was the place where novelist Lee Tae-jun lived and wrote from 1933 to 1946, and “Hang Out With Yoo” held interviews to select members of the project group MSG Wannabe. Currently, it is used as a café. You will encounter a beautiful Korean-style garden once you open the gate. The numaru (upper floor), where you can enjoy the scenery of the front yard like a picture in a frame, is the best spot to enjoy the whole place. The rafters and roof, old sewing machine, stone mortar, and other small items are perfectly blended with the surrounding scenery, making it cozy and comfortable. Sweet pumpkin bingsu (shaved ice) which is not too sweet is a popular menu item.

Hanok stay where Bukhansan Mountain spreads out like a folding screen

This is the filming location for SSAK3, a project group in which singers Rain and Lee Hyo-ri participated as members in “Hang Out With Yoo.” Located in Eunpyeong Hanok Village, it is operated as a guesthouse with a spectacular view of Bukhansan Mountain. From the numaru, the concept of a terrace, you can see the scenery of the surrounding alleys at a glance. The most unusual space here is the cypress room, which turns into a hot spring bath when you remove the table. You can have a relaxing time while enjoying a foot bath or half body bath with a glass of wine. It is gaining popularity as a space for hanok concerts, lectures, tea ceremonies, exhibitions, and book discussions.

    Café Sunwoongak

Hanok café where Korean beauty and modern sensibility harmonize

It is a hanok café that can be found by passing through the quiet stone walls along the stone paths nestled in the mountainside. The interview with Park Eun-bin in “You Quiz on the Block” was filmed in this place. As Bukhansan Mountain, where Sunwoongak is located, is a national park, the trees boast exceptional beauty and go well with the hanok house like a picture. It was the largest private hanok house in Seoul, and is famous for being built with the last tile of the Joseon royal family. The interior is modern, but pottery and mother-of-pearl tables are placed inside to convey the beauty of Korea. If you follow the road leading to the hanok house from the inside, the L-shaped hanok surrounding the courtyard unfolds.
