Jeju Island, the southernmost particular self-governing province of South Korea, is a volcanic island endowed with mountains, sea, and unique natural landscapes. The beautiful island is the only one globally to achieve the Triple Crown in UNESCO’s natural sciences category. With its selection as one of the World’s Seven Natural Scenic Spots, Jeju is inevitably a go-to location for K-Variety shows. Here are four travel destinations, each boasting the unique charm of Jeju.

    Halla Arboretum

As a symbol of life in Jeju, Halla Arboretum became known as the shooting location for "Hyori's Homestay." The arboretum has over 1,100 species of native Jeju and subtropical plants. While it houses many endangered and rare plants, it’s an excellent place for a walk and relaxation. The 165 million square meters of forest bath is a restful space within the city for tourists and locals alike. Outdoor walking paths are open until 23:00, allowing for enjoyable night walks.

    Saebyeol Oreum

A representative Oreum (volcanic cone) in the western part of Jeju Island, Saebyeol Oreum, earned its name as it stands alone like a morning star in the evening sky. A 30-minute hike to the top offers a panoramic view of downtown Jeju and the coastline. Visiting during the fall when golden silver grass sways in the wind or at sunset presents fantastic scenery. The region hosts the annual Jeju Fire Festival around the first full moon of the year.

The park offers a maze puzzle museum, walking paths, and bamboo forests and is rich in diverse flora cultivated over 40 years, representing different seasons, making it a visual delight.

    Hado Beach

Located by the roadside of Hado-ri, known as the most beautiful coastal road in Jeju, Hado Beach is relatively quiet compared to other beaches in Jeju, featuring wide sandy beaches and clear, shallow waters. The gentle scenery unfolds with calm waves, making it suitable for marine leisure activities such as snorkeling and kayaking. Like Rain and Noh Hong-chul in "The Hungry and the Hairy," you can spread a simple table and chair and enjoy a cup of coffee quietly.
