  • “My Name” Filming Location Tour

    Busan

    Haedong Yonggungsa Temple

“My Name” is a drama depicting the harsh truth and revenge that Ji-woo uncovers when she joins a gang to find the criminal who killed her father and becomes the gang's mole inside the police force. This series gained great popularity with its suspenseful and thrilling story. Let's visit the filming locations, including the Busan Coast Guard, the main stage of the drama, Busandaegyo Bridge, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, and Kangkangee Arts Village.

    Busan Coast Guard, Korea

The police station that Yun Ji-woo infiltrated

As Yun Ji-woo (played by Han So-hee) disguises her identity and infiltrates the police, scenes of a police station often appear in the series. The filming of the police station actually took place at the Busan Coast Guard. As Busan is a city by the sea, the police station is also adjacent to the sea. It is said that all the scenes where Ji-woo visits the police station after her father's death was also shot inside the actual police station.

    Kangkangee Arts Village

The place where the atmosphere in the drama is well expressed

In the late 19th century, Korea's first modern shipyard was established here. There are still more than a dozen repair shipyards and about 200 industrial companies that remain today. It is said that the name of the village, Kangkangee, was born from the sound of a hammer hitting the surface of a rusty boat. In “My Name,” it appeared as Inchang, the main stage of gangsters, and the unique atmosphere harmonized well with the story. There are also many small coffee shops, so you can walk around every nook and cranny of the village. Make your visit fun by joining the tour program that runs three times a day on weekends.

    Busandaegyo Bridge

A magnificent bridge that symbolizes the development of Busan

The scene where Choi Moo-jin (played by Park Hee-soon) accepts Yun Ji-woo into the gang and promises to help her seek revenge was filmed against the backdrop of Busandaegyo Bridge. The majestic iron arch and the ships on the black sea left a deep impression on viewers as they matched perfectly with the heavy and dark atmosphere. The 841-meter-long Busandaegyo Bridge was built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the opening of Busan Port. Visitors can easily cross the bridge on foot, and the view of Busan Port from the top of the bridge is very beautiful.

    Haedong Yonggungsa Temple

The scenery of the sea and the temple

It is a historical temple built in 1376 during the Goryeo dynasty. It is said that it was selected as a filming location with the Buddhist message that “Revenge goes round and round.” Mountains in the back and cliffs and the blue sea in the front provide a mysterious and beautiful landscape. At the entrance, statues of the zodiac are lined up, which is unusual for a temple. As it was built on a cliff, you have to go up 108 steps from the entrance to reach the main hall. Bamboo growing on each side of the steps touch overhead to make a tunnel, creating a unique atmosphere.
