  • Gyeongju’s spring, with its fantastic landscape of flowers blooming over tiled roofs, is the perfect season to travel.
Gyeongju in March is decorated with vivid colors, its famous tourist attractions full of life and vitality,
from long-standing historical sites to Hwangnidan-gil Street, and attracts tourists with its unique harmony of traditional tiled-roof houses and modern motifs.

    I stayed at Alley Guesthouse,
a Korea Quality accommodation recognized for the owner’s considerate care
as well as reasonable prices, to enjoy my trip to Gyeongju.
Here, even a leisurely walk offers a chance to enjoy the pleasant spring scenery.

The greatest advantages of Alley Guesthouse are accessibility and convenience. It is a 5-minute walk from Gyeongju Station.
Popular tourist attractions such as Daereungwon Ancient Tombs, Cheomseongdae Observatory, and Hwangnidan-gil Street
are a 15-minute walk from the guesthouse as well. This makes it a popular accommodation among travelers who visit Gyeongju for the first time.
In addition, guests have easy access to nearby facilities including a market, shopping district, pharmacy, and convenience store.

The café-style communal area on the first floor is a practical space reserved for guests only.
It can be used as a kitchen to cook breakfast in the morning and as a resting place where you can browse travel books on the wall shelf to plan the rest of your trip.
As an added bonus, if you’re lucky, you may even spot a friendly kitty resting on the couch. If you are a cat lover, be sure to keep an eye out.

Room for one, offering a quiet,
relaxing view of tiled-roof houses in downtown Gyeongju

Alley Guesthouse provides various room types, consisting of rooms for one or two guests, as well as a family room for up to four guests.
Although each room is not large, it offers a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere.
The room for one has travel books placed next to the bed, showing the careful consideration of the guesthouse staff on behalf of the solo travelers.

The operating principle of Alley Guesthouse is that “Not only staff members but guests also should respect the facility as a space of relaxation.”
When people respect each other and their space, the guesthouse becomes a pleasant and comfortable place where guests can enjoy their vacation to the fullest.

The night in Gyeongju seemed particularly calm and quiet for me as I stayed at this place of respect and consideration.
When in Gyeongju, take the time to fully appreciate the quiet night from an open window.

    Hwangnidan-gil Street

As the types of tourists in Gyeongju change from year to year, the colors of Hwangnidan-gil Street, Gyeongju’s major shopping street, vary each year as well.
The street is packed with fascinating stores, ranging from elegant restaurants serving dishes from different countries, including Japan and Europe,
to aromatic scented candle shops, accessory shops, and shops selling cute character goodies.
