Synopsis
‘NeNeNe' is a children's performance that has been collaboratively developed and produced by SangsangMaru and the Swedish arts organization ZebraDans. This production is a special project initiated to commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Sweden, with the aim of making a global impact in the children's performance market. During the planning process, it was discovered that while 'NeNeNe' has a positive meaning in Korean, it actually means 'No' in Swedish, which brought about laughter and amusement among the team. Taking into account the unique cultural differences between Korea and Sweden, the performance title for 'NeNeNe' was ultimately born, showcasing the essence of both countries and their shared perspectives.
'NeNeNe' strives to create a production that resonates with children worldwide by seamlessly blending a Nordic sensibility in the stage design and costumes, while also highlighting the rich and vibrant Korean elements on stage. ‘NeNeNe' awakens the emotions of joy and happiness by embracing the unpredictable. It allows children to freely move and interact with forest animals and nature, fostering a deep connection and harmony with the natural world.
