The fourth Winter Youth Games will take place January 19 – February 1, 2024 at arenas throughout Gangwon State, namely in Gangneung, Pyeongchang, Hoengseong, and Jeongseon. Following six years after the success of the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Games, Korea has the honor of hosting the first Winter Youth Games in Asia.   

Over 1,900 youth athletes from 80 countries will compete in the Games in a range of winter sports, including short track speed skating, figure skating, and bobsleigh. The Games will kick off on January 19 with opening ceremonies held jointly at Gangneung Oval and Pyeongchang Dome. Excluding the opening ceremony at Gangneung, all of the sporting events are free. Tickets can be reserved through the official website after signing up for membership. Tickets for events taking place in Gangneung will also be available on-site on the day of the event.   

In addition to sports, various experience programs introducing Korea’s charms will be available through five themed booths at the Korea Tourism Promotional Hall. Participate in the hashtag event and take commemorative photos in the Life 4 Cut self-studio of K-Culture Zone. Experience hallyu star contents through VR in the Hallyu Zone. Relax with sound therapy in the Wellness Experience Zone. The promotional hall will operate throughout the Games period, and be open to all visitors, including those not attending Game events.  

Aside from the promotional hall, special K-culture experiences and events such as a K-pop concert are planned for the young athletes. To join in the fun, hurry up and make a reservation!
