Jeonggangwon Tourist Farm is a traditional food culture experience hall selected for the Korea Tourism Awards in 2014. Expert Korean food chef Jo Jeonggang opened this place in 1999 to inherit and develop Korean food. It is a stress-relieving rest area that provides healthy meals for families, and the vast garden boasts of the greenery of Mother Nature. Moreover, it is only a 30-minute drive to the Woljeongsa Temple Fir Tree Woodland Path in the Odae Mountain National Park.
Lodging rooms mainly make up the New Building, Korean traditional housing, and annex. The Main Building is used for business purposes, whereas the New Building, the first building that comes into view after entering the main gate of the Jeonggangwon Tourist Farm, features a rustic mountain cabin. Lodging rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors and are composed of VVIP, VIP, and general rooms. VVIP and VIP rooms have cozy bedrooms as well as a living room. Every room features old-fashioned furniture and pictures, offering a cozy scene throughout the New Building. The balcony creates a peaceful and picturesque scene of nature full of greenery. Just a glance makes you feel instantly refreshed.
The Korean traditional housing is located north past the New and Main Buildings. The Korean traditional housing and garden, resembling a secret garden, will leave you in awe after passing trees arched over the path. Lodging rooms consist of VIP rooms for 4 and general rooms for 2. Although the floor is warm and heated, there is a cozy Latex mattress and a modern bathroom in every room. The VIP room features fantastic southern scenery; Once you open the door, a paradise of ponds and falls greets you.
The annex is a lodging facility for groups holding seminars or corporate training. There are one-room lodgings for 8 to 10 people and one to two rooms for 2 to 5 with heated floors to meet various customer needs. It also has pool tables and ping-pong tables for entertainment. The annex is across the road in front of the main gate.
Jeonggangwon Tourist Farm is a traditional food and culture experience hall that provides tasty cuisine accordingly. You can reserve dried pollack soup for breakfast and pick a Korean cuisine for dinner. Red pepper paste, soybean paste, and soy sauce are traditionally matured, making your mouth water even on a full stomach. Meals are served on the 1st floor of the Main Building, which boasts of a splendid view of 700 sauce jars and pots with maturing Korean sauces and pickled vegetables.
Lazy walks and daydreams are more than welcome in Jeonggangwon Tourist Farm. The lookout shed is a beautiful rest area that has a flowerbed full of colorful flowers, and the vegetable gardens cultivated by Jeonggangwon Tourist Farm show a heavenly scene of Mother Nature. Children have a great time running around on the vast lawn. A group with more than 10 members can make Bibimbap, Royal Stir-fried Rice Cake, and Kimchi to experience Korea’s traditional foods and culture; families can also make potato pancakes. The Food Museum and Hanbok Experience Center are on the 1st floor of the Korean traditional housing.

“When Buckwheat Flowers Bloom,” written by Lee Hyo-Seok, represents Korean modern short stories. Bongpyeong is the story background and is where Lee Hyo-Seok was born and raised. Lee Hyo-seok’s literary world is realistically depicted in the Lee Hyo-Seok Memorial Hall, consisting of Lee Hyo-seok Literary House and Hyo-seok Moonlight Hill.
Woljeongsa Temple Fir Tree Woodland Path
The Fir Tree Woodland Path is an attractive tour site that stretches from the Iljumun (One Pillar) Gate of Woljeongsa Temple of Odae Mountain National Park to Geumgang Bridge. Tall fir trees form a tunnel; they are famous for appearing in the filming site of the Korean drama Guardian: The Lonely and Great God. You can also enjoy installation artworks on the roadside and friendly squirrels.
