Biyangdo Island, located in Hallim-eup on the western side of Jeju Island, is the youngest of Jeju's volcanic bodies. With an area of 0.5 km², it is small enough to explore fully in about two to three hours. There are two cinder cones in the area around Biyangbong Peak in the center of the island, and remnants of long-vanished cinder cones remain on the northwestern coast. Walking along the coastal road on the island, you can see unique rock formations. There is also a salt marsh formed by seawater, which is rarely seen on the mainland. It is a wetland where salinity fluctuates significantly due to the ebb and flow of seawater. Biyangdo Island offers various photo spots. From the sea visible through the gaps between stacked stones to stone walls adorned with beautifully painted conch shells, there are diverse places to capture the joy of your trip to Biyangdo Island.
You can take a boat to Biyangdo Island from Hallim Port. Currently, there are about four ferry services a day, and it takes about 15 minutes to reach Biyangdo Island from the port. Since the detailed timetable and schedule may vary depending on weather conditions, it is recommended to check before visiting.
