TREKKING
One of the simplest ways to travel is by foot. Whether it be mountain or waterside trails, floral walkways, snow-covered paths, or pilgrimage walks, trekking allows you to explore and travel any route you want, at your own pace. Korea’s mountainous terrain is bordered by the sea on 3 sides, so you can see all types of paths, from coastal ways to steep mountain trails. A representative trekking course is the Korea Dulle Trail. You can serenly walk through Korea's natural landscapes and explore various historical and cultural relics.

CYCLING & RAILBIKE
Due to the well-established bicycle roads, you can easily ride around cities like Gyeongju and Seoul, as well as the areas along Korea's 4 major rivers (Hangang, Nakdonggang, Geumgang, and Yeongsangang). If you want to enjoy Korea's truly beautiful natural scenery, renting a bicycle is a great option. Additionally, there are about 20 railbike facilities currently in operation throughout Korea, mainly serviced on closed railroads. However, in some places where the existing tracks were too narrow or inconveniently located, new railroads were laid.
Korea Cross Country Cycling Road
The 12 courses of the Korea Cross Country Cycling Road stretch for a total of 1,853 km along the 4 major rivers of Korea—Hangang, Nakdonggang, Geumgang, and Yeongsangang Rivers—all the way to Jeju Island. The courses, as short as 21 km to as long as 385 km, run along different landscape such as seasides, mountainsides and rural areas.

Jeongseon Railbike
Jeongseon Railbike was the first railbike location to open in Korea. Offering both two- and four-person bikes, riders depart from Gujeol-ri Station and travel 7.2 kilometers along an abandoned railway track to Auraji Station. The tracks pass along the clean river, through a forest, and through old train tunnels decorated with vibrant lights. The track of Jeongseon Railbike is relatively flat, making it easy for all riders to enjoy the passing scenery in comfort. The full track takes about 30–40 minutes to complete. After arriving, visitors can hop aboard the train that takes riders back to Gujeol-ri Station.

HIKING
Hiking is a national hobby of Koreans. The nation's mountain hiking population totals 19.72 million as of 2021, which is 38% of the country’s population. This means that 1 in every 3 Koreans goes up a mountain at least once a month. The main reason for this may be the widely distributed mountain range topology; 65% of the country is classified as mountainous land. The mountains in Korea are under 2,000 m, and most are gently sloped with well-maintained trails. Although it is highly uncommon to come across wildlife, you should still be careful.
Hallasan Mountain,Jeju Island
Hallasan is Korea’s highest mountain stretching east to west at the center of Jeju Island. It is 1,950 m high and takes about 8 to 10 hours to go up to the summit and return. The main hiking trails are the Seongpanak Trail (9.6 km; 4.5 hrs one-way) and Gwaneumsa Trail (8.7 km; 5 hrs one way). At the top of Hallasan is Baengnokdam Crater Lake with a circumference of about 3 km. If you get to see Baengnokdam on a clear day, make sure to take pictures as it's not an easy sight to see.

Literally “moving rock,” Heundeulbawi Rock is a popular attraction of Seoraksan. The Gwongeumseong Fortress Course is equipped with a cable car, allowing even elders to go up to the mountaintop. The 3 km round trip takes about 1 hour, and you can enjoy great views. The fall foliage of Seoraksan is exceptionally beautiful.
