Picnic in the park
There are many ways Seoulites relax by the Hangang River, from renting bicycles to enjoying water sports. Another popular activity is picnicking at one of the 11 Hangang Parks. What’s even better, there are now picnic equipment rental shops, making it easy to join in the fun!
Reserve a rental shop
There are nearly 30 picnic equipment rental shops in the area of Hangang Parks. Most shops have a limited number of supplies, making advance reservations key. Most shops accept reservations on their websites, through social media like Kakao Talk or Instagram, or over the phone.

Select your equipment The options available will vary by company, but the basic set at most rental shops includes a tent, picnic mat, and camping chairs. Add-ons range from comfort items like a table, throws and pillows to entertainment like board games and speakers, to decoration items such as lanterns and mood lamps. The only thing missing is food; you can buy snacks and instant food from the convenience store, or order chicken or pizza for delivery.
Set up & enjoy
The most popular picnic spots include Jamsil, Ttukseom, Ichon, Banpo, and Yeouido Hangang Parks; we recommend Yeouido. Pick an open area to set up your tent, spread out your picnic mat, and get settled. Most rental shops will explain how to set up their tents, and some even offer guide videos on their YouTube channels. When everything is set to your liking, snap some pictures of you relaxing to upload on Instagram, and then actually relax!

Tents are only allowed at Hangang parks until 19:00. If you want to stay longer, be sure to take down your tent. There is no time limit on the other picnic items.
