Palace tour in hanbok
There are many charms to Korea’s traditional palace complexes and hanbok, the traditional clothing. Put them together and you get the added benefit of free admission, in addition to feeling like royalty! Bright colors, gently curving lines, timeless beauty…all these features will be captured in photos of you in hanbok at a royal palace!
Visit a hanbok rental shop There are many hanbok rental shops located around Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, Changgyeonggung Palace, Gyeonghuigung Palace, and Deoksugung Palace. You can simply walk into any shop that suits your fancy, or search online and make a reservation at a place you like in advance. Most rental shops offer a variety of hanbok styles and designs, from traditional to fusion, and everything in between.
Pick a hanbok to wear
Depending on the type of hanbok you pick out, the process of getting dressed can be quite complicated. Thankfully, the staff are ready to help! You can always pick the simple modern hanbok that feature a blouse-like top, but you won’t get free admission to the palace if you choose that style. After you get dressed, it’s time to finish up the look with a fancy hair-do! The basic style comes free with the rental, or you can pay a little extra for some flowery hair accessories!
