Korea is known for its Instagram game, if you can’t find something to do on Naver, Instagram will be your next bet in Korea. Koreans love to document where they go, what they do, where they eat, and so much more. Incheon is a location right outside of Seoul and if you have flown into their international airport then you more than likely arrived through there. Incheon’s city slogan is “All ways Incheon” because all ways lead to Incheon from the airport to the shipping dock. Incheon is not visited quite often by tourists since it is right outside of Seoul, so most people are only aware of Chinatown or the Fairytale Village. I would like to add though, that there are a lot more places to visit in the area that just those two tourist spots. What is great about Incheon is its colorful and versatile location. It very accessible from Seoul by subway and bus. In Incheon, you can get a little bit of everything from the city life, old city vibes, countryside, and more.

Cimer Spa

Cimer Spa within Paradise City is definitely an instagrammable place to visit. There are lots of different areas in the complex. You have the indoor pools, outdoor pools, sauna, steam rooms, nail bar, fitness rooms, restaurants, juice bar, wave room, ice room, charcoal room, salt room and so much more. Cimer spa is more than just the spas, it’s an all day adventure with lots of areas to explore, relax, and enjoy. They have designed this location quite well making it a popular place to visit for tourists and locals.

Wolmido Island

If you have been to a boardwalk in the U.S. like Santa Cruz in California, this place has a similar vibe to that. Wolmido is kind of like a boardwalk with carnival games, rides, and food. The most popular ride to do in Wolmido is the Disco Pang Pang. The reason this ride is so popular is because of the funny DJ. The DJ will do everything in his power to make you fall or struggle during this ride while also laughing or talking to you and the crowd. Wolmido is an instagrammable place especially at night because of the beautiful bright lights from the carnival rides and games. It’s also great because you can get some interesting street or carnival food that makes the experience unique.

Chinatown

Chinatown (Credit: Adventures with NieNie)

This is considered the official Chinatown in South Korea and reasonably so. It is close to Incheon Port where the ferry terminal and shipping dock are. Many foreigners, mainly Chinese and Chinese Korean immigrants, came here by boat. There used to be a large amount of Chinese businesses that sold a lot of trade goods, but now it’s mostly filled with street food and Chinese restaurants. The Chinese restaurants in this area though are some of the best and have been here for many years. Jjajangmyeon, for example, is a Chinese Korean dish that was catered to the people who live here and originated in Chinatown in Korea in 1905. The reason this location is so instagrammable is because of the beautifully Chinese inspired architecture. You will see a ton of beautiful buildings and restaurants that are covered in red and lanterns outside of the buildings.

Songwol Fairytale Village

Right next door to Chinatown is the magical Songwol Fairytale Village. This village is quite popular and has been in several K-dramas including “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim (2018).” This place in itself is made for Instagram. There are a lot of areas from the street art, to the street food stalls, to the rainbow steps that make this place quite photogenic. It’s important to wander around because you never know what you will find next. There is also a painted sea of fish which reminds me a lot of Busan’s Gamcheon Village.

Sorae Marsh Ecological Park

Sorae Marsh Ecological Park

Sorae Marsh Ecological Park isn’t as popular, but I lived pretty close to this area and saw a lot of people taking photos here. This ecology park is an interesting place to visit especially during fall. This is considered a marsh land so it’s very wet in many parts of the area but there are nice wooden pathways to walk around on. To make it more instagrammable I would suggest you search for the big windmills that are available here. Much of the grass grows pretty tall in the area making it a beautiful place to film and take photos. It’s pretty quiet compared to most areas in the city.

Songdo Central Park

If you haven’t heard of Songdo, I’m sure you will in the next few years. This is becoming a haven for many foreigners because of the many English-speaking jobs at large pharmaceutical companies, foreign companies, international schools, and academies as well. The area is pretty much a new city built on a man-made island and is becoming the new hot spot. Songdo Central Park is one of the most popular areas to visit in Songdo because it has a large walking space with many areas where you can host a picnic. They have also done their best to make a lot of fun activities for kids, families, and couples. There is also an area where you can do a boat ride and visit the popular bunny island.

G-Tower Observatory Deck

G-Tower

Also located in Songdo is the G-Tower Observatory Deck. This deck is comparable to Seoul’s Lotte World Tower observatory. From this observatory you can get a beautiful view of Songdo Central Park and some of the beautifully designed buildings in the background.

Panoramic65 at Posco Tower

On the other side of Songdo Central Park and the G-Tower Observatory Deck is Posco Tower also known as Oakwood. This tower hosts a lot of offices and hotel rooms. However, I would suggest you head on over to the hotel side so that you can grab a fancy meal, desserts, or drinks with a gorgeous night time view. This space is so beautiful at night and often times they will have a live band.

Incheon Grand Park

Incheon Grand Park

Incheon Grand Park is probably the most famous park in Incheon. It is one of the best parks to see the cherry blossoms, fall leaves, and is pretty in any season. There are a lot of walking roads and pathways where the mature trees cover and create a beautiful pathway during each season. This park also includes an arboretum, soccer field, botanical gardens, and a small lake. This is a great place to get instagrammable photos during any of the four seasons of the year.

Rose Stella Garden
One of the most beautiful places to visit in Incheon is the Rose Stella Garden. This cafe makes you feel like you are in the countryside of Spain because of it’s location and how the cafe was designed. The outside of the building looks like something you would see in the Spanish countryside. There is a greenhouse on the premises where you can pick up some of the most beautiful bouquets. Additionally, you can also grab some tea, cake, coffee, and enjoy the flower gallery and cafe. I would say it’s a cute place to have a tea party, perfect for Instagram.
